The Don & Dorothy Gabriel Kingdom Builder Recognition

Don Gabriel, father of popular Branson entertainer Doug Gabriel, founded Branson Christian Business Men's Committee more than 20 years ago. Out of his vision came the annual Ozark Mountain Prayer Breakfast and the presentation of the Kingdom Builder Recognition. This recognition is given annually to a person who contributes to the quality of the community by demonstrating in word and action a dedication and dynamic Christian life. This person consistently puts others ahead of self and lives by Christian vision and mission, working for God's perfect will in Ozark Mountain Country.

Criteria for Nomination:

  1. A person who lives or works in Ozark Mountain Country (Stone or Taney County)

  2. A person who contributes to the quality of the community by demonstrating by word and action a dedicated and dynamic Christian life

  3. A person who demonstrates the following character qualities: a) Has a servant’s heart – consistently putting others ahead of self-interest b) Is a servant leader – following the example of Jesus Christ in leading by the Holy Spirit at home, in the Church and in the community c) Lives by Christian principles in all situations without compromising the truth d) Lives by a vision and a mission that includes praying for and working for God’s perfect will to be accomplished in Ozark Mountain Country

The recipient of the Don & Dorothy Gabriel Kingdom Builder Recognition is a living example of the love of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit at work toward community transformation for the glory of the Father, the salvation of souls and the building up of the Body of Christ.


It is our sincere prayer that this be a Spirit-led process, not intended to bring acclaim to any individual, but to share the example of those who are shining His light with others in our community.


As our Lord Himself stated in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
